Description

Position Purpose

  • The PSRM Site Expert will champion and drive execution at a site level of the Business Unit’s Process Safety Risk Management program.

  • He/she will be or develop into a Subject Matter Expert on one or more PSRM elements and will coordinate and drive execution of the PSRM activities on site, with key focus on the identified HHPs (High Hazardous Processes), in order to develop and sustain a Process Safety Risk Management system, to identify, understand and control process hazards and manage risk, preventing serious process safety events.

  • This role is critical in reducing the process safety risk within Cargill’s manufacturing processes to the corporate agreed level.

Responsibility

  • Act as or develop into a Subject Matter Expert in process safety standards, processes, methods, tools, tool aids, job aids and local regulatory requirements.

  • Develop the PSRM knowledge of the site organization and provide training on site, aligned with the corporate and BU PSM Domain.

  • Provide leadership/coordination & hands-on support in the execution of all PSRM related activities on site to deploy the process safety risk management system. Apply the new PSRM standards and facilitate the use of processes, methods and tools (PSI, PRA, PSSR, MOC) for existing processes and during the process design of new processes.

  • Track site process safety performance through auditing & measuring

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics, at minimum at Bachelor level.

  • Successfully completed Training in Process Safety Management:

  • Expert training such as:

  • 4 day CCPS’ Process Safety Boot Camp of new 4 day CCPS/Cargill “Foundations of Process Safety” training

  • 3 day CCPS’ HAZOP Studies and Other PHA Techniques for Process Safety and Risk Management training

  • 1 day CCPS’ Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) training

  • 2 day AIChE's Combustible Dust Hazards: Dust Explosions training

  • Basic knowledge of the relevant site processes and their hazards.

  • Basic knowledge of process automation & control and reliability excellence & maintenance.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in engineering, technical operations/PDG, project management and/or process safety management at (a) site(s) with High Hazardous Processes. Experience should include:

  • Leading multiple MOCs and PSSRs

  • Being a team member or leader in 3 or more process risk assessments (PHA/HIRA/PRA/LOPA) for existing or new facilities

  • Minimum 1 year in a role providing day-to-day support to operations and maintenance teams

  • Experience in developing and providing training on technical or safety aspects.

  • Proven success in developing, implementing and leading initiatives/project plans.

  • Proven ability to influence results w/peers, management teams and vendors.

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Local language.

  • Personal drive and commitment for Safety Excellence.
