General Electric External Communication Lead in Moscow, Russia

Role Summary:

External Communications Leader, GE Russia/CIS will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic communications plan to promote the GE story in Russia/CIS, to enhance and protect the GE brand, and support business communications activities across key external stakeholder audiences.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Actively cultivate and execute storytelling across earned media and manage consistent generation of content for owned platforms, partnering with the business teams as appropriate

  • Develop and executive a thought leadership program for the leadership teamthrough earned media opportunities and events

  • Prepare news releases, publicity packages / media kits to support GE positioning efforts and participation in major events

  • Define and implement an editorial plan that reflects business growth and overall positioning of the organization

  • Create, produce, and coordinate external communications; act as the primary contact person for GE RCIS, providing timely responses to media requests and to industry and third parties to support business objectives

  • Partner with business and corporate teams on crisis communications strategy, plan development and execution on necessary media response

  • Develop business leaders' capabilities as GE spokespeople, position key business leaders in the industry

  • Maintain a media relations stakeholders mapping, allowing more message penetration

  • Drive cross-functional processes, content, tools and metrics to increase efficiency and impact Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, Journalism or History

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations / Agency, Marketing or Marketing Communications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in all aspects of communications including internal and external, media relations and public affairs

  • Minimum of 8 years of strong writing and presentation skills experience with the ability to conceptualize, structure, write, and present compelling stories for a wide range of audiences

  • Minimum of 8 year of experience in project management skills with the ability to work well with teams of cross functional employees and multiple external agencies, partners and stakeholders

  • Fluentin both Russian and English languages

  • Digital marketing experience

  • Industrial Industry experience desired

  • Proven track record acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives and recommending communications strategy to tell the company story to key stakeholders

  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, influential communications and to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously while working independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and able to quickly build trust and relationships in order to influence a diverse set of leaders across GE's global functions and businesses

  • Track record demonstrating the ability to formulate strategic communications plans and to also execute on tactical needs

  • Proven media relations and thought leadership experience, particularly in tier 1media

  • Experience in communications channel management effectively selecting the most beneficial channel mix depending on audience and desired outcomes

  • Experience in managing new platforms and tools for audience engagement

  • Deep knowledge of technology space including media, thought-leaders, and digital strategies

  • Strong organizational, project management and problem solving skills who is a self-starter

  • Creative thinker, with proven ability to generate new ideas
